NorCal has installed a new low dose mammography unit in our Walnut Creek office on Ygnacio Valley Road. The patient friendly machine will provide better quality images more quickly than the previous machine.

Mammography standards recommend that women over 40 have an annual screening mammogram. Women at risk should begin screening mammograms 10 years prior to the age at which their mother, daughter, or sister was diagnosed with breast cancer. If a woman under 40 is referred for a screening mammogram, the radiologist will consult with the referring doctor prior to scheduling the exam.
